Week One again

Ok so I'm back on week one. I'm going through all the exercises again and really trying to cement them into my pysche. It will work :)

Get Moving

This one should be ok - work is making me move a lot at the minute, spending a lot of time on my feet etc, but I should be able to take a walk every day as well. The fresh air will help keep my head straight anyway.

Mind Your Language

I will be slim and healthy. I am determined to be slim and healthy. I am going to be slim and healthy. I will not 'try', I will not 'aim', I will do!!!!!

Think Thin

This one is difficult for me but basically it means listening to my body and what it tells me it needs. So if my body is screaming that it's full, then I need to listen to that and not try and force it to accept more food.

Measure Your Success

This to me will mean that I will record when I've done well and accept I'm not perfect. I will note down when I am more active, when I listen to my body, when I think positively about all this.

Be Your Own Role Model

I am my own role model. I will visualise myself as I want to be, as I will be. I will think about where I want to end up and how I want to

The Power of Decisions

I will make decisions, consciously and carefully. I will not accept that some decisions are predestined - I have the power to make decisions even if the choices are not palatable to me.

So there we go. Determination, positive thinking, preparation. It will stand me in good stead.

New beginnings

I say this a lot but I find it helps :)

I'm starting on a new beginning. My life has changed again and I need to take account of this.

So to begin my new life - I've bought myself a new pretty notebook to outline the lighten up programme, the techniques, the exercises, etc. I'm going to type up the weekly checklist/review on here and maybe some of the exercises but there's a link between writing things out by hand and actually carrying them out.......

Week One involves:
Get Moving
Mind Your Language
Think Thin
Measure Your Success
Be Your Own Role Model
The Power of Decisions

I will explain more of these headings when I write up this week next Monday. This doesn't necessarily mean I won't be blogging b etween now and then - but the full review will be next Monday :)

First day (night) of a new start

OK so I've found blogging to be very helpful in the past and right now I think I need somewhere to document what's going on in my life.

I've successfully lost 16.6kg in the last year which is great but I'm struggling again and need something to kick start me again.

I'm currently rereading Pete Cohen's book 'Lighten Up' and redoing his 8 week plan - which is a lot more about changing my mindset than following a diet. This approach makes sense to me and mixes well with Paul McKenna (who got me this far!!) and a lifestyle approach I've found by using WLR for the last few years. Focusing on being positive and beating depression has helped enormously but with work going mental again, I think I need the extra support of blogging on a regular basis. So tomorrow I hope to post with an update of weeks 1 & 2 of Pete Cohen's course to help me reassess what I am gaining from it and what I can gain from it :)

New starts are great aren't they?

For the record on Wednesday 4th November my stats were:
Weight: 96.2kg (I've found weighing in kg means I focus less on the numbers and more on the trends :))
Chest: 102cm
Waist: 88cm
Hips: 109cm

So not too bad :)
